When you realise that you want to leave your job it can be a hard decision. You want to get out as soon as possible and find the job that will make you happy.
One woman has made the news after she left her high profile internship in Wall Street to follow her dream… and become a porn star.
You’ve read that correctly – she left Wall Street for porn. I’m guessing that one of the first videos she does will revolve around that, because that storyline seems like something from a porn film anyway!
Pursuing her dream
The 23 year old intern, known as Paige Jennings, realised that she was “not cut out for the politicking required” in Wall Street and wished to pursue another career. For her, the idea of sitting around for “eight or more hours a day” was not what she wanted to do with her life, and Wall Street was not where she wanted to be.
I can understand that. I’ve had jobs where it has been a real challenge to just get through the day. You watch a clock that never seems to move, and managing to deal with office politics without losing your cool is an accomplishment. In a job you hate, it is hard to sit there and pretend everything is okay.
Jennings realised early on that it wasn’t what she wanted, and so decided to make a change. “It just came to me!” she said in a recent interview. “I was still working at my old job and I said listen, I don’t think I’m going to be good in this industry, but I have this finance degree. What business do I want to be in?”
It all comes out
Although she is legally-bound from revealing the name of her former employer, she has not been quiet about why she left. Veronica Vain, Jennings’ newly adopted porn name, has been letting it all out on Twitter.
“I just left a job on Wall Street for a porn career because I can’t stop masturbating at work,” she posted.
She also said “I left finance because if I’m going to take it up the ass for a decade, I’d prefer to get in to a hall of fame for it.”
That is certainly one way of putting it!
The only way is up
Jennings is determined to succeed and firmly believes that porn is the way to do it.
“Porn is very mainstream now. They’re making high-budget feature productions with story lines, and they’re putting it out on HD pay sites. I’m interested in being in that world.”
Porn seems to be everywhere and it is becoming more acceptable to watch. There are still some, and there always will be, who find the very idea of porn offensive, but almost everyone watches it. I do. I will happily admit that I watch porn, and there is nothing wrong with that.
As for Jennings, she will be taking part in an X-rated internet reality show, known as the Sex Factor (very imaginative title there!), so we can expect to see and hear more from her in the future.
