When the weather takes a turn for the better, there tend to be one of two reactions. People will either rush out to enjoy the sun or they’ll stock up on antihistamines to try and combat hay fever. If you’re in the latter category it can be difficult to try and enjoy the sun. However, it seems that you might already have the solution right before your eyes.
Researchers are suggesting that having more sex during pollen season could be the cure for hay fever that we’ve been waiting for. Why? Well, that’s where the science behind it comes in.
Hay fever and typical relief
Hay fever is one of those things that, unless you suffer from it, you don’t realise how bad it can get. It sucks because you feel as though you can’t enjoy the nice weather! Oh, the sun’s out? Better take some antihistamines so that I don’t turn into a red-eyed, sneezing mess.
It affects one in five people at some point throughout their life, so the chances are that you’ll know someone who has it. This allergic condition to pollen tends to be present throughout the year, but it is between March and September when the pollen count is at its highest. That’s when you’ll notice yourself sneezing more and more.
There is no cure for it, and you can’t really prevent it. Antihistamines can help with the symptoms, but often it is easier to simply stay indoors with the windows shut. That’s not really the way you want to enjoy your summer, so what else can you do? The video below has some good suggestions to help you out.
Is sex the cure you need?
We already know that there are some amazing benefits to having more sex. As Martin tells us, it can help to lower your blood pressure and provide a little natural pain relief with each orgasm. There have been times when I’ve had a headache and found that a quick masturbation session really helps to fix it. There’s no need to reach for the tablets!
So what about hay fever? Well, having sex isn’t going to cure you, but it can certainly help you out. Experts at the Tabriz Medical University in Iran believe that you can ease congestion with sex, and that you’ll notice the results rapidly.
Annoyingly, this might be a solution more suited to men. We are told that the relief has been linked to ejaculation. For some reason the ejaculation seems to trigger the relief. So if you’re lacking a penis, you might just have to suffer and reach for the antihistamines instead. Yes, I am just as frustrated by this news as you are.
Worth a shot
Personally, I know how it can be to try and soldier through with hay fever. My nose starts running, my eyes go red and watery, and I get a lot more headaches. You feel exhausted and the fact that you can’t enjoy the warmer weather makes you feel incredibly frustrated. It’s even worse when you see your friends posting aesthetic pictures of themselves enjoying the good weather.
You’d turn green with envy if you weren’t already red with allergies.
But I believe in the power of sex! I already know that I can fix headaches with an orgasm, though I’ll still take tablets in the office. The last thing I want is a chat with the HR department about being appropriate in the workplace. So is this method worth a shot?
I think it might just be. For the sake of science and my fellow hay fever sufferers I am willing to try it. The worst that will happen is that it doesn’t work for me. This seems likely given the fact that I have a vagina and not a penis, but I’m still going to give it a try. If it does work then I’ll be over the moon.
Looking for other methods
This method seemed to come about from the rise in natural remedies. People don’t want to have to grab the nasal spray or the antihistamines in order to give themselves a little relief. They’d rather try more holistic and fun methods, and what could be more fun than fucking away your allergies?
I can’t think of anything. What about you? Which fun methods have you heard or tried to ease your allergies? Tell me all about them in the comments below! I’d love to hear your thoughts on them.
