People will use porn to search for things that they might not look for anywhere else. It feels somehow safer to look for the taboo subjects on porn sites, which is why the number of people searching for stealthing porn has risen dramatically.
When sex acts make it to the news, it spreads awareness of them. Not only that, but it gives people new things to search for on porn sites. In theory this might be a great idea, but it leaves us worried that so many people want to know what stealthing is. What’s worse is the fact that people are hoping to see it in action in porn videos.
So what is stealthing? Why is the number of searches on porn sites for it on the rise? And should we be worried about the number of searches?
What is stealthing?
Our own Martin Ward goes into detail about what this sick and extremely dangerous practice is, but for those who don’t know, here is a quick summary.
Stealthing is when someone removes the condom during sex, without their partner’s knowledge or consent. This means that the sex is no longer safe. You are at risk of catching STIs, STDs, or (in the case of women) falling pregnant. All because your partner thinks it is a great idea to slip it off during sex.
In some cases, people will just damage the condom in a way so that it tears during sex. This might make it seem simply like an accident during sex, but if you’ve done it intentionally we don’t need to tell you about the risks you are posing to yourself and your partner.
Why do people do it?
People have all kinds of different arguments for why they decide that taking off the condom during sex is a good idea. Some do it because they hate how the condom feels during sex. They feel like it is too tight or decreases the sensations that they feel during sex. If that is the case, you are buying the wrong condoms. Get yourself properly sized to make sure the condoms you are buying are suitable for the size of your cock. You can also get condoms which have been created to allow you to feel more during sex.
But these aren’t the only arguments. There are plenty of people out there on the internet defending the act. In fact, one woman stated that: “it’s a man’s instinct to shoot his load into a woman’s *****”, going on to stated that it is a right and that men “should never be denied that right”. And there were others agreeing, as you can read in the Columbia report.
There are so many arguments out there for why people do this. However, no matter what somebody’s reasons for doing it may be, it shouldn’t be happening. If your partner hasn’t said “yes” to sex without a condom, you better cover your cock during sex and keep it covered. Safety first, people.
Why is it popular in porn?
At the time of writing this, PornMD has the term “stealthing” listed as number four in the Global Top 10 Trendings. At the top of the list is “from condom to bareback”, but these aren’t the only search terms for it. “Takes condom off”, “sneaky”, and “stealth creampie” are other popular search terms for people to use to find videos on this.
In Ireland it seems that your priorities are different. The Top 10 Trendings for Ireland in terms of porn searches show absolutely no hint of the act. You’d much rather watch things like “amateur anal”, “fake taxi”, and “joi” than this dangerous sex act.
The media reaction
So many websites have come forward to talk about how dangerous this act is. If your partner hasn’t consented to it then you shouldn’t be doing it. And yet people are still trying. They get a thrill from it when we’d really rather they didn’t.
However, plenty of people out there are lucky enough to never encounter this. The majority of people out there will use condoms to keep themselves and their partner protected during sex. The very idea of taking the condom off during sex has people disgusted, as you can see by the intense reaction from community members in response to Martin’s article on the topic.
Hopefully this is something that you will never experience and a trend that will simply stop. Until then, be on your guard.
