It has to be the best, and most evil April Fool’s Day pranks I have seen in years. It saw our friends from Pornhub decide to give a heart attack to their millions of visitors when they clicked on the naughty content you find there.
The first time they clicked on a video on the site, the following message came up.
“Thanks for sharing. Pornhub now has automatic video sharing to your social media accounts,” the popup reads. “No need to manually share your video to your friends and family ever again because this new revolutionary sharing feature does it for you! Automatically!”
Yes, Pornhub went and told users that porn was going to be shared to their Facebook. I can only imagine how stressed some would have been.
Well, as you can see from the picture, you were given an option to either like the move, or ask Pornhub to reverse the action. It was only when people pressed for the latter that they got a new message popping up, stating it had all been an April Fool’s Day prank.
To be fair, this was a work of genius. As the saying goes, ‘they just won the internet’.
Would I Have Been Fooled?
I have to say, I am not sure if I would have been fooled or not. In the modern world of ‘fake news’ I am rather sceptical about anything I read. Hell, when I watch a film that purports to be ‘factual’, I spend at least an hour fact-checking once the film has finished. Therefore on April’s Fools Day I may well have been more cynical than usual.
However, the idea you are sharing porn to your Facebook is just so bad that the alarm bells may have started ringing. It probably isn’t true, but what if it is?
We are not sure how many were conned, as complaining that your visit to Pornhub was going to be made public, but making your trip to Pornhub public is rather dense . Though some people did actually comment about their panic. These people get to vote and use heavy machinery!
We all send our appreciation to Pornhub. Not only is it the best porn site going, but they are our favourite comedians as well!
