Porn Actress Kills Herself After Online Abuse

A really sad story recently came out of America, with 19 year old Alyssa Funke, apparently taking her own life after being exposed as having appeared in a porno film.

Offensive Comments

The video of her surfaced on the amateur porn site CastingCouch-X, where Funke introduced herself as ‘Stella Ann’. Shortly afterwards, she received offensive comments on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. The Minnesota student was called a slut amongst other unpleasant things.

After initially taking the comments on the chin, she seemingly went downhill. She ended up shooting herself on the family boat, leaving behind her parents and her nine siblings.

Police say the death of Funke, who had a history of depression was not related to the cyber-bullying, although her family disagree intently.

KSMP-TV’s (the local TV station) treatment of Funke’s story focused more on Funke’s decision to do porn (which a social worker quoted for the piece attributes to her “dysfunctional” childhood), and seems to ignore the online harassment.

This seems like a chance to frame the whole tragic issue in a way that attacks the sex industry. Let’s get something straight; it doesn’t sound like the porn that tipped her over the edge, it seems like the online abuse certainly had the negative impact.

I hate any form of bullying. Some people are the same kind of characters they were in the school playground. Yes, as they get older they are less able to hit people, but the internet gives them a voice to be as malicious as they were as kids.

Anonymity is the Key

This is why the anonymity of escorts is huge at Escort Ireland. The industry is becoming more accepted, but that doesn’t mean you should ever divulge any information on any Dublin escort, (or any other escort for that matter)

And as for newspapers naming and shaming people in the escort industry; well, you don’t need me to tell you the negative effects that could have.

It would be far better to have everyone just allowing people to make their own life choices, and we just accept that. As long as you are not hurting anyone else, what is the problem?

People need to remember; you never know when you a pressing the buttons of people who are more fragile than you would think.

RIP Alyssa Funke.
