While were talking about this, how old is the forum. I know this site has been going since 1998. But when you see the join date of posters it's between the 2006 and now. Was there a forum before this or did all the older ones fade away? It really is addictive once you start to post. I think we spend more time on here than doing work. It's handy for us who use computers for our jobs you can have it on in the background and look in every so often. Then when you go home again. It's no wonder the economy is in the state it's in.

I worked inside only once ever and that was in a factory, and I could not get over how much time was spent just acting the maggot on-line, the entire engineering staff spent the day on porn sites and such, absolutely the bare minimum was done, I was really surprised, (didn’t give a f**k), but was surprised, one fella, (very high up) spent his day putting his porn collection in alphabetical order, another his joke (Inverted comma’s) collection likewise, this was a worldwide known company, one of the most recognized anywhere and these were the movers and shakers of the company, if that is an indication of the country as a whole, then were long since up s**t creek.

I normally would not be within 10 miles of a computer in a wood, but am home at the moment because there’s close to the bones of E100,000 worth of horse flesh here right now, 60% of which are not mine but other owner’s who’ve left them here for an ‘overnight’ with Eveready Eddie. My nerves couldn’t handle leaving them unattended as if any were stolen (which happens a lot) I’d never be able to pay the owner, so I wouldn’t chance it. And if there’s one thing you can rely on with horses, it that as soon as you turn your back, something happens to them, either illness, or half a dozen different, the saying ‘a strong as a Horse” is not really true, they get knocked out by nearly everything.

Smarty it's safe for me because I am the boss. My staff think I'm hard at work in my office when I'm on here. I do my fair share of work to justify by being on here. When I think I've earned a little break I go on here. But I'm always careful my staff don't see what I'm doing. If your an employee your right it's not safe to use the works computer. Theres nobody to check up on me. Which begs the question what would I do if I found one of my staff on here. I suppose I'd have to be firm with them otherwise I'd give myself away. A verbal warning would suffice.

Me too LOL, mind you I did have an issue with some of my staff going on dating sites like ad...fr....fin...r.com,
I'm not a complete bollox so I did allow internet access to some of the pc's outside the office on the production floor for them to use. I didn't mind once it wasn't abused but when I found out they were visiting these sites I had Legally no choice but to bar access to those pc's, seemingly I could have been sued by another member of staff if they came across what other members of staff were doing and found it offensive, thats if I had let it continue!!

    Hi Highwayman,

There are electronic archaeologists. Maybe we need one to go digging?

3 pervert bosses - is there a link between sex drive and power - or when u have power do u become more interested in sex - unlike u guys i actually work - but yor collective positions now explains to me how people can be posting during normal work hours-

to original point by anon - really caught my interest - i looked at dates of members online when i read ur post and found that i was a comparative veteran - joined sep 2006- only guy online at the time was 'pookii'? by 1 single day here longer than i.

so speaking as a surprised veteran 95% do come hang around for a while and bugger off fairly lively - then u have the real stayers - not including the girls themselves.

you get forum bosses then (post non stop it appears) but even they fuck off after a few months. i suppose it gets bit dull after a wee while- this last week has certainly been one of the more exciting that i have seen

btw i am over on the other site too just as long-

you should pop over and have a look at some of the threads involving your regulars here -quite interesting i think u shall find

hope ye hang around for a while as i think the current crop is actually more 'interesting' than previous generations and chat is certainly lively at the moment

    yours, a real veteran !

    High Alec,

I myself have never ever had normal working hours, In the Forestry I come and go, if I only cut on tonne or the normal 10 to 15 tonne a day, that’s what I’ll be paid for, its my choice, In the summer I’ll head of maybe 5 in the morning and put in a long day, maybe 8 at night and then take the next day off and go on a trawler that day, or potter around here and do a few things, flexibility and freedom are my watchwords. I hate to be pegged down, even my only job where I was not the boss, I had huge freedom as regards hours, I had two weeks of every month, best job I ever had, but not being the boss got to me after a while.

As regards the other site I signed up to it (not this username) out of curiosity, not been there in any great depth, have seen Highway alright, (Rock of sense as always) but not others, are you under the same username, I did not contribute a single syllable there as yet (yeah right says ye) its true, I don’t find it as interesting or as navigable as here.
