E-I Offline problems

I'd also like to add that our staff have been working around the clock on these problems the last while. As customers of course you can complain as soon as anything goes wrong, but there is no need to go over-board and act like the site is completely down everytime we have an issue with the message boards. We are trying to fix the message board issues.

Ad staff have always been amazing and patient with me- my scatty brain and bad organising skills mean i'm always bothering them!!
I think we all understand that it's difficult trying to sort out all of the sites problems. However I must add to everyone else in saying that it 100% isn't only the message boards that are down and I find it frustrating that you think that. If it was purely the boards it would be a shame but not a hugee deal. The fact that the whole site - reviews, profiles etc and the mobile site are not working properly is a big deal.

I have literally been trying to connect to EI for short of 3 hours with no luck. The chances are it'll probably dissconect when I go to post. It is not a permenant thing I know but if I was a client trying to access EI to find it down more than once I'd be frustrated, give up and move on.

I know your not a miracle maker Patricia and really do appreciate that your all trying to solve this but please - you cannot incinuate that people are going overboard. The message boards are fun and a great laugh- but the adds are buisness. Especially for touring escorts with tour time limits.

Site was completely down for me too, but surely girls have their regulars that will contact them regardless of wether this site is down or not. Personally, I just looked up the number of my favourite girl and made an appointment.

I'm glad you got to see your favourite girl LT (sure it was fun ) but not every girl has regulars to rely on. I'm new to Ireland so haven't got a client base to rely on like I do in London. If I could rely soley on regulars I wouldn't advertise at all.

Sorry, I can see this would be a huge problem for touring escorts. Tbh when I come to this site it is usualy to check out who is visiting neighbouring counties.

To give you a very short answer as to what is going on.

[1] There have been some problems with the message boards the last 2 weeks, most of the time they are fine, but they've been running slow for a time now and then and we have and are working on this.

[2] There is another problem since about 10pm this evening (When it rains it pours!) which does not relate to E-I specifically, but relates to our hosting company in the US, and may be impacting on E-I for some users. It is being worked on. I do not imagine it will go on into tomorrow but I'm expecting it to go on for some hours still. I don't have all the details at this time, so I can't really give them on to you.

At the moment, all our IT staff are working hard to sort things out. Tomorrow, we will have a meeting and decide what to do. If we think it is appropriate, we will offer a refund to advertisers, but I really can't comment on that until I have more facts.

What I can assure you is that E-I is doing everything it can to ensure good service for you all. Unfortunately popular sites like E-I are not simple to keep running smoothly at times. Just like Facebook and Twitter (Ok, I know we are not as big a those!) and almost all big sites go through bad patches sometimes where there is slowness or downtime, we have had a bit oif this lately. For us, it's a case of getting every possible service in place to cater for every possible problem that can occur and that is what we are working on.

I am very sorry for the problems with the message boards this evening, they are only impacting on the message boards, not escort adverts. Unfortunately not all site problems are easy to resolve. We undertook a massive unexpected move to a new network recently and there are a few problems with message boards now and then since which we are working very hard to resolve ASAP.

Actually there are a lot of different problems. Some that I've observed:

- DNS failure. This was the issue for part, but not all, of last night.
- Database failure. I don't know if it's MySQL dying, the server it's running on or the connection between that and the webserver. In fact, I shouldn't know that's the problem at all. I only do because your site is so badly misconfigured that it spews php error messages to the screen, rather than logging them like competently run sites do. That's a serious security breach there.
- PHP. The 404 errors people were getting earlier in the week are usually signs of php scripts dying. Assuming you haven't changed the scripts in the move, you are probably short on resources on the new host.
- Nginx. This was discussed on another thread.

Now, I shouldn't need to tell you any of these things. You have access to the logs of the webserver and the database server. If you don't then you are with the wrong hosting company. You have staff who can interpret those logs. If you don't then you have more than enough money to hire some. Anyone who looks at your rate card and the number of escorts advertising can see that your annual revenue is in the millions. This should be a professional operation.

The site is working perfectly this morning by the way. But if you continue to have problems it's worth getting some other outside expertise I think.

I wasn't trying to spark an angry debate with this thread. But since E-I has moved servers it’s been up and down like a yo-yo. I couldn't access the site last night at all and it was down for several hours this afternoon too. Not even the banner page was coming up. I'm not computer technical or anything but if you can't access the site through a simple google search then something is wrong at a basic level.

I know that Patricia and the team at E-I are probably just as annoyed if not more so than anyone here. This site is Patricia's baby and after 13 years or so on-line to see it have such problems now must be driving the poor woman insane.

That being said it is affecting Escort business and it’s really sad to see such technical problems occur. My business doesn’t depend on this site but theirs does. I hope that whatever the issue’s are can be resolved quickly and that everything goes back to being normal.

I feel sorry for everyone here both the Escorts and Patricia.
