I think in this country ppl have a perception that they will never be in an accident that it will ever happen to me.Call it arragance or stupidty but i am sure the majority of members here have close friends or family that have been invovled in accidents. The condition of some roads in this country have been appalling, its time the Nra done something about. We are supposed to be a first world country but some of the roads here are what you would see in a third world country.Things have to change.

It is a terrible price to pay and a terrible loss of life. Cut down in their prime. The sad part is its all preventable

Not talking about this case as we don't know what happened here yet, but in cases of young people acting silly or drink driving I think passengers often need to start taking some responsibility too. You often see cases in the media where is was a group of young people, the driver was drunk, there was an awful crash, and afterwards the passengers are painting themselves as total victims whilst all the blame is laid on the driver. That annoys me. Sure the driver is in the wrong, but I imagine in most cases his mates knew he'd been drinking, they may have even encouraged him to drive, so it's a bit rich them not taking any responsibility for what happened and instead acting like they are a complete victim of this evil driver.

Madness, I would be all for restricting the speed of passenger vehicles like they do with commercial trucks, why with a top speed limit of 120km on our roads are they allow sell vehicles that will do 240+km

There was another case in the paper during the week where a teenager drank 12 budweisers and a bottle of buckfast and moweed down 3 people dead, despite all the drink drive ads and awareness campaigns it still happens. Maybe a rise in the age limit for either drinking or driving should come into effect

Funny you mention it because a guy i know is in hospital right now because of drink driving. Himself and the driver were both drunk and i hear he is all the victim and hoping to get compo.I havnt even gone to see the fool because i am not sympatising with a guy that got into a car drunk with another guy. I have being drunk before and lots of other ppl and we all knew that you dont drink and drive. That they dont realise this is only an excuse.

a nasty drunk he is too,
