As anyone who has ever come to see me knows I am very chatty and friendly and I like to take a few minutes to break the ice. But I’m quite strict with screening so I never have a problem with the gentleman telling me his first name, although by the time they leave I usually know half their life story!! And it’s just a part of the job that I really like I find it really interesting hearing about different jobs or different life stories or travels that my guests might have been on.
I think it just gets rid of any awkwardness or nervousness to have a chat with the new client when he arrives. I’ve had some well-known faces in this country come to visit me and none of them have had a problem in contacting me from their real WhatsApp (I always pretend that I don’t know who they are and casually ask “so what do you do” And again they have never had a problem in telling me) it’s nice to be trusted, what would I have to gain by gossiping about clients? Possibly being outed myself? No thank you!
