It’s fine to say go to an established provider but everyone starts somewhere. The lady whose company I enjoyed most and have seen most this year had no reviews when I saw her first. She did allow reviews and her photos were verified. That’s very different from going to an opt out in my view.

You are right. But it’s your responsibility. You know you take that risk. Don’t complain later.
