    Default Price Gouging

So a report has found that Irish supermarkets have not been price gouging during a cost of living crisis.

So that's that then. Despite paying higher prices than the rest of the E.U. (most of?) in supermarkets we have had it explained to us. Ok so .

Let's continue to worry about everyone else .

I mean after all Simon Coveney even wrote them a letter and the consumer watchdog says there's nothing to see here .

Our grocery prices are 19% above EU average but so are our wages... so that's fine, apparently - we're just paying the Paddy premium!

I will keep saying it. Any excuse in this country to charge as much as possible for everything we buy/do is the default approach. Politicians don't give two hoots with their €205,000 plus expenses. They will never experience what the ordinary person does because they're not in touch with reality. It's a complete joke

Yes. A high proportion of the population are only paid the minimum wage or slightly above. Also many of these employees do not get a full 40 hour week, in as their employers maintain extra staff to cover for holidays, sick days and busy times.

I'll take a pay rise.... not seen one in years... i was on reasonable money.... inflation has really started to eat into it.

I have noticed the steady rise on a basket of shopping over the last few years.

Still i have enough to live and cover some extras so i cant complain, many people much worse off.
