I am already generally on this forum for several hours a day every day and this isn't enough. I can't do more. Sorry folks but I'm not going to put myself in an early grave by living on this site 24/7/365.

I could try to hire staff to be moderators, but to be honest it is bloody hard to get staff for this type of thing. Finding staff to clean our office, answer our phones, update profiles, do accounts etc is one thing... Finding staff to moderate boards is another, because it requires a lot of understanding of this industry and judgement that doesn't just come naturally to Jane Bloggs who comes to work for us. I honestly can't find staff that would make good moderators and this is an ongoing problem. Even Sarah, who has been working with me for years and does come on these boards often, tells me this is the one part of her job she feels she can never do right.

I honestly think community moderators could work well here. Almost all large online communities do have community moderators. For those that don't think Community Mods is the way forward here, what is the alternative? Regards why pat's bodyguard, well because he wanted to give this a shot and I think he deserves a shot. I've apprached numerous others about being Community Mods but they haven't been interested. I think you are all actually being very hard on our first Community Mod, it is no wonder nobody else is interested.

    Pat x

Well whether it could ever work is one debate given the nature of this site this is not a normal online community there are issues of relationships between punters and escorts there is also the issue of privacy and then there is the issue of one group of posters namely escorts being the actual mainstay of your business.

There is also the issue of Liz Hilton and pretty much anyone who posts here is on one side or another of that argument so i can't see how you could find anybody that could be viewed as being impartial.

But on the issue of BBJ there is not only his close relationship to the troll queen there is also a huge issue in his trustworthiness given that he operates multiple profiles and i have shown how for a fact he used one of those profiles to back himself up in an argument.

And that is just the profiles we know about

You cannot ask people to trust someone as a moderator when they are hiding behind different identities. Whatever chance BBJ had of being accepted the decision to appoint him under a different identity and to keep his other identities secret coupled with the magic disappearance of a thread highlighting this means that most people I think can't accept him as a moderator.

It's not me that's changed... It is you lot that have gone mad

Seriously it would be easy to moderate this boards if there was less to do. The trouble is, it is 100s of PMs and requests and things to deal with every day, every hour on a bad day... It is simply way TOO MUCH for one person.

Your alternative Patricia would be to set hardened punishments for the most serious of rules with no grey area, eg. posting of any personal information and then to deal with lesser problems by informing posters that they can PM you directly with their complaints saving you the hassle of having to go through every single post individually ............... in essence making all of us "Community Moderators".

That's the way you ran this site in the past and it worked well, it wasn't perfect but it was much better than the current state of affairs.

There never will be a better Community Moderator than the Patricia of old and there really is no getting away from that fact Pat, deal with it.

And you believe that BBJ qualifies for that difficult job based on him asking to be "given a shot"?!?!?!?!

You were just asking for trouble with decision Pat, you know that and I know that ............... you're an intelligent woman, you could have come with a better candidate better qualified to do the job if you insist on trying out the Community Moderator idea ............... I believe the idea won't work but you could have put more thought into it than that to at least give it a fighting chance of working ffs!!

The whole point of community mods was to weed out grossly offensive comments and I have to agree that BBJ has quite plainly either ignored or chosen to ignore the first obviously offensive comments made on his watch and it just so happens to have been made by a friend of his but also note that someone made a comment regarding a clear insinuation towards Liz and her son is also grossly offensive but has not been removed by BBJ either so he cannot as yet be accused of taking sides.

So if he removes neither it is a bit pointless having him or if he only removes one then he is showing himself to not be fully impartial and that is worse then not acting at all.

A president has 100 days to make an impact but a mod will be judged on his/hers first days and at the moment and to be honest it is not looking to good for this mod but that does not invalidate against having them.

You do not abandon democracy over one political scandal and run to the embrace of the nearest dictator so I ask BBJ to step up to the plate and remove any and all offensive comments regardless of who posts them or else what is the point in him being a mod.

At the moment the argument against “this” Mod has merit and its up to the present mod to prove these very valid criticisms unwarranted but at time of writing they are right to voice these concerns.

It was vitally important that BBJ or any new mod set out his/her stall from the word go and send out a message by editing the first universally agreed abusive comment and he has not done that. We all make mistakes but if he does not rectify this soon then he will be forever chasing rains drops with a timble and never get a handle on what he is a mod for in the first place as he then becomes part of the problem and not part of the solution.

I wish him well in this endeavor and only say this in advice, be even handed or don’t bother…simple as….that’s all it takes, not any in-depth knowledge of the industry but common basic sense and fair play.

its the Soap Opera section. If this stays put then its unreasonable to expect someone to moderate it.Have you actually tried to read some of that jibberish let alone make sense of it?Bottom line is you cant have it both ways.Either scrap the Soap Opera section or else just have the main section moderated while keeping the Soap Opera section mod free.In other words people post on the Soap Opera section at their own risk. Its the main section that should be moderated.I thinks its very unfair to BBJ to expect him to attempt to follow and and read every bit of the Soap Opera section.

Brothers, remember when this poll was running? It shows a majority in favour of community moderators. I understand that things change, but if not BBJ, then who would get the community's support as a Mod? There's nobody here that can remain truly impartial - everyone's got an opinion on everyone else. Given that, it seems we're at an impasse - the community seems to WANT a moderator, but if the current set-up is unacceptable, then who?

But you were sacked from that moderator job for being incompetent (amongst other reasons)proving beyond doubt that you should never be permitted to moderate again.

It is common knowledge that HighWayMan (along with others) registered numerous usernames in order to influence that poll which proves another problem with mulitiple usernames being allowed ................. by the way that poll is still running.
