It need to be a Draft Bill First!!

Then approved by the government !!!!

Then spend 2 years in the Dail!!!

Then 3 months in the Seanad!!!

Then it needs a ministerial Commencement Order!!!

At least 5 years away if EVER!!!!

This may be true for useful laws but I have seen really stupid laws being passed much quicker than that — I could be wrong but the way things are going at the moment any law involving sex workers will probably be a stupid, ill thought out law and could be passed very quickly!

There probably isn't a lot we can do about this in the north but I wonder is there anything constructive we could do here in the Republic now to try and persuade the powers that be not to introduce poor laws that will criminalise punters push this business further underground?

They would have absolutely no proof at all if you paid for sex with an escort. It's a law which is practically not going to be enforced properly. You could be meeting a woman for tons of reasons. One being a massage alone.
