    This is a flight I've taken. This is a 737 doing a touch and go in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The pilot, while flying between two island mountain tops, has to manage a 45 degree turn on descent and land on this short runway. You see the end of the turn at the beginning of the video. The runway is only 1188m long. The reason for the touch and go practice is that the other side of the runway is the bay. The plane brakes so hard you get thrown forward into the seat in front of you if you're not holding on.



    I wish there was a better video of this....the turn at takeoff is to keep from slamming into another mountain.

    The landing was actually safer than the takeoff...

    They don't fly these in there anymore, the only planes that go in now are SAAB 340's.
