can I ask a general question here. if a person picks up an sti, can that infection be defeated by the body's own natural defences ? if so, which sti (s) does this apply to and which can only be defeated by medication ?

Good morning ISO, at the moment there are two very aggressive virus at large one is gonnorhea and the second one is chlamadia, they can be got from OWO, reverse oral or CIM, these bacteria are breeding 3 times faster than they were 6 months ago, so say for example if you picked up the bacteria last year it would take 30 days before you would see signs of it (as in 30 days to grow), now that same bacteria is taking only ten days and we for example that one infection might cause 10,000 bacteria to grow that one bacteria is now causing 25,000 bacteria to grow, the virus is changing its shape so what once woudl kill it kills it no more, we have one anti biotics at the moment that will kill them, unfortunately we are seeing the same people returning in some cases which means they are not learning from the experience, unfortunately you have to cover up (i love owo, cim and ro) but i have had to change, simple as these virus can kill you, i dont want to sound like the grim reaper or put anyone off god knows we need an outlet of enjoyment in these times but please please be careful

Great to have you posting on the subject, seeing how you work at a clinic and you do have hands-on exeprience with the matter. But please do not confuse the guys with talk of virus and bacteria. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are BACTERIAL infections, not viruses. [Viral infections tend to be much more serious matter : HPV, HIV, etc.]

As I stated before in this thread, the tragic and very alarming increase in STIs would likely be contributable to irresponsible behavior fueled by alcohol ('Saturday Night Fever') .." mainly from the young college kids who have multiple sexual partners and from both punters and escorts" ..

For reference : MRSA -- one of the first antibacterial-resistand pathogens has been around for the best part of 3 decades, and we are still managing to fight it. Unfortunately now Vancomycin resistant strains of bacteria are appearing as well. We still have some very powerful medications in our arsenal, but yes, it's definitely a cause for concern.. especially when the same population keeps coming back wit the same type of infections. By the way, resistant strains of Tuberculosis are also causing havoc, and with that disease we are truly up against the wall as far as treatment is concerned..

My repeated mantra is : Get tested, get vaccinated, get checked regularly.
