What is the common transaction method? I prefer to hand off the transaction in person to prevent robbery. What prevents a no-show or a ghosting?

Bank transfer is a no no and the scammers use to use paypal but u got some protection there, revolut is used alot now for scams, if they dont accept cash then just move on.
Never get shafted and if in doubt just get them to send a selfie and tell them to hold up something or a newspaper with the date on it,
The scammers will ignore u then or tell u to fuk off

But yeah, in terms of defenses against scammers cash on arrival is probably your best bet but of course doesn't stop them robbing you then but at least the odds are significantly reduced.

I ask deposit of 50% for outcall if I have never seen the person before, to prevent me getting there and be a fake booking.
For regulars it would never happen.
Again I have asked £100 deposit for a guy I have never seen before and booked 2 hours, if he doesn’t showed up he would mess my afternoon about. He came to the appointment and everything went very well and he choosed to pay the remaining by Revolut, so next time he can book an entire day and no deposit needed as I know him now.
You would be surprise by the amount of time wasters, fake booking we get.

I pay my friend by bank transfer,

this is only the rare exception I presume-

visitors or providers will not want giving out their names bank details and all that info.

cash only.
