What I'm trying to do in this topic is request that all of the reports on posts should also be delivered to the admins, to prevent corruption and bad behaviour on the mod level.

if you read the posts again you'll see that i apologised to Luther and said the "above the law" comment was in jest. i was just trying to add a light note of much-needed humour! however, i do conceed that tone is sometimes hard to convey in text and what i wrote could have easily been misinterpreted.

to reiterate and clarify: i believe there should be a clear set of rules and if there were then would that not dispel a lot of the pithy quarrels here? and with less fighting then surely this place would be more fun again?!

i said "i'm probably wrong", because i don't believe that it will happen. this place is a squabble-fest at the best of times!

i honestly don't see where there is any contradiction there mate?!!!!

Your argument is basically "well Mr. Fussy said was saying ridiculous things to begin with", but Mr. Fussy was just giving his opinions and people can make what they want from them. If what Mr. Fussy had been saying was really so bad (it wasn't, it was just opinion), then it shouldn't have been allowed to begin with.

Mr Fussy's opinions are certainly not ridiculous; he's entitled to hold them and to express them here. I share his views that bugchasing is a crazy and criminal practice but I believe that in regard to such a subject, ignorance is not bliss ........protection lies in awareness. But the point is, that many people here are aware that Mr Fussy stated that he had legal training and he did'nt just say that in his opinion the subject matter was distasteful.....he stated that the thread itself was illegal. So it is reasonable to expect that he was speaking from his legal knowledge of the subject.......but then when challenged by Qph amongst others, he backtracked on the legality aspects of his argument.

Qph did'nt rubbished his opinions or the sentiments that he expressed and I don't think anyone else did either. But you may recall that he was offering some legal advise there a while back, so when his arguments on something that seemed quite straightforward for most members to understand, seemed a bit jumbled regarding the legality of free speech or the recording of ones opinions on a website, then maybe he's bringing his own legal expertise into question. From my understanding of and dealing with solicitors, they use the English language very precisely and some legal jargon or phraseology would be gobbledygook to the non legal mind until you try to deconstruct it into everyday language.

Funnily in all of this, your own reaction to Qph's statement regarding Fisher Price, seems to be to concur with Qph's view.

Once again, I know Mr. Fussy doesn't use the same language as most lawyers do when in official business.... it could be that he has a totally different style here. Do you think qph is saying for 100% certain that he is not a solicitor then??? It's very presumptious for a mod to assume anything like that from posts made on an internet forum.
