'Sex workers have always been canaries in the coal mine. If the Department of Justice and the Government get away with this now, who knows who else’s rights are going to be trampled on.'
Very true.

She says she has more free time working in the industry on her own terms, explaining: “I’m my own boss. Probably if I wasn’t so lazy, I could be a boss in my field. I’m pretty bossy. But I am lazy and it’s too much work, plus I hate people."
SHE GETS IT!!!

Decent enough article.
But as per standard media insights, they routinely overlook client safety, in lieu of practitioner safety exclusively.
As we see:
https://www.escort-ireland.com/board...extortion-Scam
- in threads like this,
- in addition to the fact its common knowledge that some nasty ugly criminals are responsible for facilitating some of the many willing girls who want to enter into and practice in this trade
- in addition to it not being unheard of for prostitutes to run scams
- in addition to the less spoken of reality that there are some practitioners who indulge in distinctly volatile and potentially dangerous behaviour (as unfair as the reputation that generates is to more legitimate providers);
It's something both media and policy makers could do with perhaps drawing a little more attention to.

And as per a previous poster:
Much of that quoted from the interviewee could be taken with a healthy pinch of proverbial salt.Originally Posted by WeeJimmy

i.e media and policy makers could do themselves, us, and practitioners more of a favor by coming to terms with, and addressing the FACTS:
1) workers WANT to work. Get over the reality that yes, these young girls want to sell their bodies, and enjoy doing so. Not cause they're being coerced, or are nymphomaniacs, but a reason which E-I themselves define just as well as anyone: Love of "The Hustle" (as per one of their blogs on the "Celebration" of said hustle: https://www.escortfans.com/blog/cele...er-rights-day/)
And to be fair, workers could do themselves a favor and be more forthright about this reality as well, instead making excuses like they're trying to safeguard against being shamed for what they do, and enjoy doing.
2) the entire industry requires tighter regulation and oversight, INCLUDING the working demographic, AND those who assist them. Much tighter.

Again,
https://www.newstalk.com/news/ciara-...bility-1715073
Newstalks Ciara Kelly has no time to entertain the idea there might be willing participants.
Maybe a day will come where we'll be able to do functional-MRI in-vivo studies on sex workers and conclusively illustrate the physiological reality that "yes, they WANT to do this job, of their own volition".
As we'll see those neural dopamine pathways light up (reward channels).
There are of course other considerations when it comes to legitimization and hashing out appropriate laws, but first step in addressing redundant policy is to clarify the facts and dispel this God-awful historical mistruth/narrative, as per "Dr Kelly" above.
I just dont believe the media in any form as they what so different to what really Is happening and what Europe US really want is to control the purchase of sex
The whole woke of cards “official Eire” is falling apart hour by hour.
I just hope it doesn’t go back to the other extreme I had to grow up in; a xenophobic, monolithic semi theocracy.
Honestly, I don’t know which is worse. Two cheeks of the same arse.
I blame American social media and the algorithm. If you’re centre right the algorithm will feed you more extreme crap and vice versa for the centre left.
So now we have no centre left/ centre right anymore.
Just the church of woke and the brotherhood of the alt right.
Well Zuckerberg will be okay. Like he said, what is good for social media is not necessarily good for society.
At least he was honest.
