That saying “as stubborn as mule” needs to be changed to “as stubborn as Enoch Burke”, the man is still in jail!!!!

The Judge offered to release him for Easter (the most important Christian feast of the year, and he supposedly a Born again Christian??)

And he IGNORED the offer, kept talking over the Judge, until the Judge got fed up and ordered him to be returned to prison!!!

I do kind of feel sorry for him because I think his mother is a looney tune who raised a cult, not a family.

Maybe he’s just enjoying the break away from her??? Will it ever end lol or will he end up doing life by his own Orchestration???

My understanding is that the primary reason for his dismissal was because he was verbally aggressive towards the then female principal at a school function?

It’s true that there are no winners, it really is just such an insane situation we have Judge Nolan there giving suspended sentences to padeophiles and guys who have committed violent assaults, and Enoch Burke is there in prison for God knows how long at this stage and it all by his own choice?!?!?

Ok, so he won’t purge his contempt of Court but REAL criminals are getting suspended sentences coz prison spaces are limited, where is the common sence here, it’s costing the taxpayer daily to keep him in Mountjoy, he should be kicked out to feck, what’s he going to do, go and stand at the school for the rest of his life?

The Mum did a right job on her kids, they were all home schooled, kept away from society, raised with extremist views so now she has a bunch of highly intelligent but completely unemployable social outcasts. One bad apple to ruin the cart.

He should be in a mental hospital not locked up. He's obviously high on the spectrum so I don't understand why they're not treating him as such. Until he's given irrefutable evident to contradict his beliefs, he's not gonna change.

I'm amazed that the word "cult" is never used by journalists around this family. I can only assume its the fear of being sued by them. A reasonable fear as they essentially act without fear of the law and you can be certain like all those others like the vile Gemma O'Doherty that they will never pay a bill in their lives. The mother has brainwashed her family and made them unemployable. I know that at least one member of the family has cut ties with them. I fully expect that when one of the more high profile children breaks free of her malign orbit that there will be a compelling book in it. I'm just glad they don't have access to firearms like the Westboro free Church and the groups in America.

The full rigours of the law have not been applied either. He is still getting full salary and the judge that stupidly applied a daily fine so high that it can't be enforced has shown no indication that this will ever be deducted.

Their brand of religion is vile but thats almost beside the point. He's right where he belongs until he accepts the laws of the land.

I find it unbelievable that he is still on full pay from Wilson's Hospital school.
That is completely wrong.
Whilst also wasting state funds in jail .

Oh I doubt he’s getting a salary, he was officially dismissed, remember? The dismissal hearing was held in a hotel in Tullamore, all the media were there and the Burkes were all dragged out kicking and screaming as usual.

I do wonder where they all get their money from?? The sister who is a solicitor was barred for life from Castlebar Courthouse over a seperate incident!!

I don’t know would I agree that he’s on the spectrum, I think the poor guy is simply a product of how he was raised. You know he has self published several books? On theology, of course, but the Irish Independent once published an extract where Burke speaks about being invited to a work do to which he agreed to go.

A colleague approached him and said you know that there is going to be alcohol served here? And Burke goes on to speak about his horror at how he almost lowered himself to be on the same level as these un godly people and go to a “house of sin” - a pub!!

According to the Irish Independent they created their own version of Christianity and created their own church but no one else is allowed to join!!!

So they wouldn’t be getting money from “followers” because apparently they don’t have any!!

It’s a crazy situation, most ordinary ppl would be terrified to go to Mountjoy, I’d imagine Burke has them all driven daft with his preaching and stubbornness!!

Yep - he is still being paid his salary. How there's not an attachment order to it to cover the €700 a day fines from last year makes no sense to me.

I stand corrected, omg he IS still getting paid because he is appealing his dismissal! Madness and the cost of keeping him in Mountjoy for all this time, no wonder there’s no money to “fix the roads”

I’ve two opinions about this..
Let’s face it if she was any of our mothers we’d stay in prison too😂
And secondly…
What’s the bets he’s getting some special protection in Mountjoy.. chuck him in with everyone else… all the gangland fellas that’s there and see how long it’s till he’s begging the judge to let him home to his mommy😭😂😂
