The Burkes come up quite a bit amongst professionals in the area when talking socially. Most preface their remarks by saying they couldn’t state definitively without meeting in person but I think the split is fairly even as to whether they are or not significantly neurodivergent. A senior psychiatrist who is the sister of my closest friend told me they had all the lack of social skills common in high functioning people on the spectrum but that they seemed to have almost no empathy at all for anyone outside their circle that would be considered unusual.

It’s hard to see how this ends. Its a horrible waste of state resources, court time and whether they realise or not is destroying the Burke children.
You can tell looking at Putin he's highly autistic. It's why he does EXACTLY what he says. I haven't seen his siblings now but he's defi on the spectrum. You don't need to be a shrink to see this. It's very apparent if you look at his face closely. Observative people can see it. Same as Elon. Most people like that are seen as racist/bigots, but it's just the way their brain chemistry works. They value impirical data over opinion and emotion. And have an impossible time backing down. Like, they can withstand torture rather than admit something they believe isn't factual.

I'd like to see how he can be so religious over a mythical deity now. Would love to see their religious beliefs now... because, how?!!!

This has been so ingrained in them since childhood, can their extremist views ever be changed at this stage? I Think it’s sad because they are clearly intelligent people, and let’s admit it the siblings Are good looking and always immaculately groomed, but their mother has raised them to be unemployable, And who on earth would ever enter into a relationship with any of them? They seem to be so extreme in their views that there probably would be no one good enough for them anyway.

So their mother has also potentially robbed them of the chance of ever getting married or having a family of their own. It’s sad, really.
Autism isn't really a mental health issue. Its more a EQ issue. For instance, if an autistic child who's artistic is raised by tough people who are beyond artistic, they'll thrive. Because its not about emotion/being tactile etc. It's why most don't like to be touched, eye contact/any contact , sound sensitivity, food sensitivity etc. People on the spectrum are usually highly intelligent. Like adhd people, they'd know more about the topic they're obsessing about that someone with a PhD in it (mostly coz PhDs are about part of the subject not the subject as a whole) and adhd kids are labelled disruptive coz they're bored/not mentally stimulated enough.

People’s knowledge and understanding of autism has made huge strides in even the last decade. For those in the opposite end of the high functioning spectrum especially. You no longer have to explain why someone is having a meltdown for no apparent reason to most people. They realise it’s the lights or the noise or the crush of people. They are generally very understanding and that was not the case previously.

Recognising it in people who seem to function fine at a higher level is trickier if you don’t know where to look.

If you have any knowledge of it seeing it some others is obvious.

    Musk has a formal diagnosis.

Putin us almost certainly on the spectrum. He had a very traumatic childhood. His family was torn apart by WW2. It triggered a lot of things that may have stayed dormant otherwise.

I was reading a recent biography of Peter Bernhard whose play “the President” is running in the gate at the moment. Traumatic childhood in post WW2 Austria. Deserted by father. Inability to form close relationships. No known sexual relationships. Would say anything to anyone. 100 pages in Im asking myself why biographer hasn’t stated the obvious that he was autistic. I finally found it tucked away towards the end when his half brother mentioned that Peter was probably autistic. Glossed over though which made all the other explanations of why he was who he was meaningless in the book.

Thomas Bernhard is the Austrian I was confusing him with Peter Thiel Musk's buddy who is another one likely on the spectrum.

Thanks for this Amy, I had to google what EQ is - emotional intelligence. Everything you’ve posted here makes sense, I do come across clients who are highly intelligent and in amazing careers but socially awkward and it would baffle me to wonder how can someone be so intelligent, usually at the top of their game career wise with success and financially security, how can this person be so insecure, so timid so lacking in self confidence?

But thanks to your post it’s makes sense to me now, I suppose it’s one thing to be Booksmart but emotional intelligence it’s a different ballgame.

People sometimes forget that Eonach is in jail because he won't obey a court order, nothing to do with his beliefs on the gender stuff. That's a different matter
