Default Gardai investigate as video captures alleged machete attack on Dublin's Talbot Street

GARDAI are investigating an attack on a man in Dublin city centre last night in which the victim appeared to be hit with a machete.

A video of the alleged incident posted on social media appears to show a man armed with machete-like weapon hitting another man standing on the street.

I’m afraid Talbot street has become a no go area, even though there is a Garda station very close

Isn't that were McEntee and Harris done their photo op a few weeks ago while declaring the city safe?

Got robbed there Nov 2021. With 3 gardai there. Even after witnesses stepped forward to name and identity the local gang, and my iPhone pinging at the reported address, they did nothing. They however told me, if I'd let them use more than € 79 in the offie, they might have been able to do something. On top of my money for the month they'd nabbed. They knew EXACTLY where it was and cut off my backpack instead of my handbag.

    Hope the man is OK.

On a snarky note, yep, Europeans do acclimated and integrate into irish society better than minorities alright.

Used to live just around the corner from it, years ago. Spent many a night falling up it, back when I abused substances. Something should be done, terrible to have to admit that there are no-go zones so close to Dublin's main street.

Talbot St has been a no go area for many years. In my civvie job I worked nearby, I used to always describe talbot st as Zombie land. I once saw a drug addict walk into the Centra and insert a needle into one of the oranges on display, apparently they do this to disinfect the needle??? On another occasion at the same place I saw a drug addict come in and start eating spoonfuls from the self serve salad bar.

Wasn’t talbot st also where that infamous video was taken of the lads fighting and the Dublin lady is in the background screaming “Ah hey-your leave ih owh, leave ih bleedin’ ouh”

Where as I walk around Dublin not knowing where I am...... think I'm better off being oblivious.
