I've seen Irish people referred to as scum in this thread more than the guy who stabbed those young kids today.

What happened in Dublin tonight was atrocious. This is a direct result of government failure that led to this, it has fermented for nearly 2 years of not listening to their own people, unsavoury people will alway take advantage.

I'm not coming at you, or anyone else on this point, I am legitimately curious at the method people think should be allowed for people to seek asylum? Because pushing them only into the next country right beside them is currently breaking those countries too. Does Ireland or any other non-attached country just get to say "No, that's your problem. We're closed"? Or do people actually believe that there is no legitimate asylum case?

I will concede that mention of "Military Aged Men" or "Men of Fighting Age" drives me insane. Should they have to stay in (let's say) Syria and fight the overwhelming force of the Russian backed Syrian National Army, with barely any weapons and zero international support?
