I have donated to both and also to Warren's the Irish guy who also disarmed the attacker. It's odd that people are prioritising donating to him over the actual victims.

In a case like this .
There are the victims in hospital and / or in need of psychological counseling :: which Costs Money .
YES ! GoFundMe to help them with the ( probably ) astronomical expenses / ongoing care .
But I Must ask :
One who commendably selflessly comes to the aid in an emergency but suffers no injuries
to be treated , suffers no monetary loss due to his / her selfless actions ::

I don’t think so . In a situation like this a person either has the makings of stepping in - or not .
Monetary gain never , not for an iota of a second would even brush against one’s consciousness
when stepping in to save lives . I’ve been there . Not once .
But : today being what it IS — I could foresee tragic incidents staged for a ‘hero’ to step in ,
