I think there must be reasonable voices in Israel and it is important that these are not drowned so that it has a chance to shape to general discussion otherwise in a siege mentality, opinions and beliefs only harden.

Israel is among the most fascistic rightwing theocratic ethnonationalist anomalies on the planet.

The Isreali Knesset passed legislation some time back that made it illegal for the President to pardon anyone who killed a Prime Minister.
Why? Because they knew there was a good chance Netanyahu would pardon Yigal Amir, the extremist that assassinated Yitzhak Rabin.
Why? Because Amir was doing exactly what Netanyahu wanted.

I've been to Jerusalem many times. I'm describing what I see. Yes Jerusalem is now completely part of Israel since the failed attempt to destroy the country in 67. But

the holy sites for Muslims are still absolutely controlled by Muslims.

Only difference is Jews are now allowed pray on the tiny section of the Temple Mount that they're allowed to access.
