Registered for VAT allows you claim back the vat on adverts, hotels and other various expenses that are vat rated. But then you have to pay VAT on your income , most services attract a 13.5% rate I believe.

So an escort charging 200€ inclusive of vat would be liable for about €24 vat on the service out of the €200 fee, leaving her with approx €176.

I have to say a lot of this discussion is news to me, particularly the input from the ladies, which is most welcome
I never imagined people would want to pay taxes when operating on a cash basis
It still doesn’t explain why two ladies with similar charges would operate from totally different standards of accommodation- one from a kip and the other from a virtual palace
I have personally experienced this enormous difference in standards

Sometimes, when you book a new place , you may not know what to expect until you arrive. During my tour in Ireland, I booked some accommodations but upon arrival, I found that they were unsatisfactory : dirty walls, broken beds, lots of mold , no hot water or no heat etc. Consequently, I left and requested a refund as it was not a suitable accommodation. Fortunately, I could afford to leave since I had my own place. However, other girls, especially those who have already booked their tours, may not have the luxury of leaving if they encounter a similar unpleasant surprise. Hence, it's possible that sometimes it's just a matter of luck to be in good or bad accommodation

You're assuming we take card payments.... And loads of suppliers (for oil and whatnot) charge you less VAT for purchases. Same for ads. A good accountant will set things right for any sole traders doing this.

    What Cherry said!

I have rented apartments in the past, turned up and had to leave because they were so awful.

It’s why I actually prefer hotels for many reasons as you know what standard you get. Unfortunately many people don’t want to visit hotels
