The city is full of idiot tourists wasting their money in an expensive run down city...you won't escape them. I'm just surprised they picked Dublin over Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam etc. lol.

J.R. Mahon's is very decent... formerly Sweetmans. A bit pricey, but excellent food. Pint of Heineken €7. Just off O'Connell Bridge.

Out of the city I always liked An Poiten Stil in Rathcoole. Thatched roof...a little famous. Great food and cosy. I used to bring my people there for a Sunday carvery every once in awhile.

    Pancakes? Eddie Rocket's maybe ?

Places you won't find tourists, M&S upstairs cafe on Henry St, Easons on O'Connell Street. All the old biddies will be there with their trollies. And they do a few traditional dishes every once in a while. Set menus so they can tell you when exactly. My neighbour goes Tuesday's and Fridays to either or...
