That is a pity, it is a handy store to buy lots of things...and 500 people jobless from March onwards...

I think with internet shopping today that their time was limited. They were very handy years ago but today their appeal isn't so good. I have not bought anything in Argos for about 20 years whereas we use to often buy stuff there.

To be honest - If I was passing years ago, id stop in and flick through the booklet and see what caught your eye. I can’t remember the last time I stepped foot in the place cause I do that browsing sitting on my arse on the couch now. It’s a sign of the times but it’s sad to see that amount of people out of work.

The buildings they had will surely create some new employment. Down to Argos for some sales I suppose

    i used them a lot,even recently
have bought phones, tablets, bedroom furniture, gym equipment and various other knick knacks

found it very quick and handy to check online and nip in to get stuff.
and any returns were always much less hassle than trying to return anything you get online.

    ah well,shit happens

bad news for staff just into the new year, i rarely used the ones down here, 25 mins from Derry so that's my go to, great shop from a male perspective, pick it out, pay and wait from someone to hand it to you, job done, home

For me I've a choice of Dun Laoghaire or Dundrum, but again I deal with the traffic, get parking and walk around to the shop and then trek back with my goods it a lot of hassle compared to clicking a fer buttons and having it delivered to my door the next day. The way I work online ordering suits me much better these days.

As for online returns - I've had to return 2 items to Amazon in the past. It couldn't have been easier. They collected the items and I was refunded the same day.

Can't remember the last time I was inside an argos. Nowadays it seems a bit archaic of a way to shop.
