Went for 90 mins Thai hot oil massage in Malahide earlier today. The Thai massage place is on the third floor of a Georgian Terrace between two well known restaurants. The room is divided up into three cubicles & a reception. Three Thai ladies work there. The inter-room partitions are over eight feet high but do not reach the ceiling. So its not that private or tranquil because the Thai ladies keep talking to each other. (In Thai of course) No shower offered/available – toilet in the building but on next floor up.
A younger lady showed into one of the cubicles rooms & instructed me to de-robe but to leave my underwear on & to cover myself with the towel provided. "Manee" an older lady was my therapist & was pleasant enough. I have had genuine Thai massages before in Ireland & in several other countries so I had my expectations. It was a good Thai hot oil massage in which she used, her hands, elbows, arms & feet. She walked on my legs & back with the aid of a bar across the room. She responded to my pain utterances – “no pain – no gain”. She used a hot oil for most of the massage but also used a herbal oil to rub into the stubborn knots. She said she went easy on me as my body was very tense – if tense it pains more. I definitely felt a lot better after the session as she loosened a good few knots.
I will probably return even though I found it quite painful at times. It may take a few days for me to feel the full benefit of her administrations.
No hints (vague or otherwise) of anything else on offer while being massaged.
