yes steph it not specifically designed or created for other viruses but key word there is specifically, that does not mean it doesn't help though, there is some evidence there it can protect against Syphilis and early trials on covid too were good as well so why be so pessimistic all the time and when its comes to PREP I am very well educated on it, thank you very much, PREP, its forms a barrier Around the cells so viruses cant penetrate so got to help in some way.
That said let the people make up their own mind on it, they are not stupid in my eyes and let them do the homework and research and go ahead only when they are happy to do so.

PrEP and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
PrEP does not protect against other STIs. For example, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and hepatitis C.

PrEP users can combine condoms and PrEP to reduce the risk of contracting other STIs.

Regular STI testing at least every 3 months is recommended for people taking PrEP.

Vaccination against hepatitis A and B is recommended for all gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM) and people who inject drugs.

HPV vaccination is recommended for MSM up to and including 45 years of age to protect against genital warts and HPV-associated cancers.

there is PREP available for std's too, when I at the clinic I got my shots and also get three months supply of PREP for both, all was explained very well to me, you renew every 3 month, no medication is going to to 100 per cent effective but if it reduces the risk then it has to be a good thing
better to be prepared and take these just in case if having lots of sex and I did not have any side effects which was good.
One blue tablet every second day and the other white in cycles, then check-ups every 10-12 weeks
The most important thing is taking as prescribed and getting regular check-ups

I try and get the information up here

Further to the above, blue pill used every second day or T's and S's too and white pill to be used for 7 days then 7 days off etc and that I was told that to protect against stis .
I Also got the hepatitis A. HPV.
I never knew about any of this until I was going for my check-up good while back and during a chat with the doctor I was asked if I had sex with escorts and I said yes and was then recommended that I go on PREP, if my answer was no then I would not have be given Prep kit at all.
Off course I was given a big bunch of condoms and lots sachets of lube

PREP IS NOT STD!!!!! Is for HIV+ “cure”, If You had an unprotected sexual event You can go to the doctor and he will prescribe this, but You need to take within 72 hrs, and If You are lucky You wont get HIV (cca 95%),but depend on your general health status also, If Your immun system is low because of any sicks or influenza the chance to get HIV more than If you are healthy.

Proof is a v strong word, and I haven’t a clue either way because I haven’t read enough. However, in Ireland, we use tenofovir/emtricitabine disoproxil (anti-vitals) in our PrEP neither of which combat the bacteria responsible for Syphilis. You’re English though, aren’t you? I don’t know what goes on over there, or what they might be giving you on top of your PrEP…

Link regarding doxycycline as prophylaxis for Syphilis (not in Ireland) >> here and here

There is the friendly neighbourhood GOSHH, you could ask them >> here

    All very interesting, isn’t it.
Good post there Cleo. Yes I'm English but please please don't hold that against me
Yes prep i'm on, a blue and also a white pill for Syphilis etc, The specialist put me on them when I was having lots of sex with escorts and everyone else.
Thank God, I have had no side effects and never had a sti and days I could be seeing five girls a day.

Lets not put a damper on what we enjoy, we all love sex and i'm a addict and so I'm glad this was recommended to me. I'm glad I went for the check-up at clinic, they were so lovely and did not judge, had good banter there too.
Again I am only talking about my own experience of using it and its been positive, I suggest other not to stress so much as its stress that not good for your health
