Well done you, it's not easy to lose weight, so much temptation on a daily basis plus sometimes your 'friends' are secret assassins. Keep up the good work.

I put weight on very easily, I can look at a cream cake & put half a stone on.I admit that I could do with losing a stone but I'm not going to give myself a hard time over it nor am I going to make myself miserable, fixating on losing weight. For me, it's everything in moderation but for some people, it's hard to get in the right frame of mind to start losing weight.

Also, remember, some people don't have a problem with being overweight, they are happy, it's other members of the general public that have a problem with them being overweight, if they think like that, then that's their problem & they shouldn't project it onto others that they see as overweight.

Society is way too judgmental, we should learn to accept the person & not to form opinions based on their image/size.

In memory of an awesome woman Laura Lee RIP
It's so difficult to articulate just how much she meant. Inspirational, brave and irreplaceable - our hero.
Please do what you can for her daughter. Deeply appreciated.

Lamb chops tonight Barney, steak is an indulgence.

I stopped eating before 8 in the evening some time back. It's given me a new appreciation for food. Totally fucks you for pints after work though.

Depression stemming from years of familial abuse [including getting the shit kicked out of me for leaving anything on the plate because "I fucken worked for that food"] that shoots your self esteem to hell. If you are at the point where you genuinely believe that you're a worthless piece of shit, what the point of caring if you truly believe that nobody could ever give a fuck about you? Stuffing your bake till you cant move is a comforting feeling, until it spirals out of control, leading to needing more comfort and feeling more shit because you just keep getting bigger.

Obviously my case is my own, but it can be a difficult dive to pull out of. Generally in society if you hear of someone anorexic you don't just tell them 'go eat, its easy' but when someone is a chronic overeater, society tends to scoff and assume they're just some selfish prick with no self control. Have you any idea what it's like to go into a gym to have some lean muscle cunt laugh and ask "what the fuck are you doing here?" Soul destroying, that's what that is. Makes you just want to head back home via Maccy D's for that sweet sweet comfort.

You probably aren't aware of this but you demonstrate grace and honesty in the way you talk about this subject. You should really consider blogging your journey. I'm sure it would inspire others.

Na. As much as I appreciate the kind words here that's not why I done it. Them kind of blogs just scream "look at me look at me look at me" which I'm not about. I just wanted to give an insight that yeah, maybe someone is a fat cunt because they're just lazy, but really you've no idea what's going on in the background with people to put them where they are, and that sometimes if you're particularly low catching someone looking at you like [pic below] out the corner of your eye can be enough to push you over the edge.

Don't need sympathy, don't need help. Just need to be left in peace to get on with it. Just something about the people in this shitty country that try to bring each other down instead of leaving people be to get on with whatever they're doing.

this sentence just remind me of this:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/lif...-woman-should/

I remember I was so angry when I saw it, cause this elderly woman who was body shamed might be simply going to the gym to stay healthy.

It made me feel as if we become obsolete after crossing a certain age or weight line.
are we then no longer a valid member of society?
We might not all get overweight, but we will all age.
Where is the respect? It could be someone else's mother, grandmother, wife, struggling to get in shape after a surgery etc...
sorry, don't mean to rage but it still makes me pretty angry.

funny thing how easily we open up to strangers.

I spent once a 12 hrs flight talking to a man in his 50ties, who happened to sit next to me.
we got completely hammered and he told me the story of his whole life.
Cause "we will never meet again" and in his real life he had no one to open up to cause he needed to look though and strong.
It was long and moving story about a successful and ruthless businessman who neglected his family and really regretted his ways.
He became very emotional and you could tell that it meant a lot to him.
I will never forget that, and I don't even know his name. `

Yep. And it boggles the mind that to the 'few' old/fat/unattractive people don't belong in gyms. How do you get to slim/toned/in shape if not at a fucking gym. When I canceled my membership I told them why, that I didn't feel welcome by some of the established regulars. They told me they're very anti-that and ban anyone involved, but who wants to be that guy telling teacher? Not me.

I work with one of those meatheads you allude to. To hear him talk to his buddies about 'this guy that showed up at the gym last night' is revelatory. And I have to breathe the same air as him all day.
