I read an interesting scammer encounter recently on howtogeek.

I was impressed with how they hand off responsibilities.

I keep a clean Win7 virtual machine set up and call them now and again. Best fun I had with them was when I had a couple of buddies on a group skype call. Literally an Irishman, Scotsman and Englishman and every few minutes we'd change who was talking. Waste their time for an hour, give them fake info on the fake name generator then enjoy the rage when they figure it out.

But watching their techniques of "proving" you have all the virus' is scary. If you didnt know better I can see how you'd fall for it.

That's a 25 minute video, but it's worth the payoff. He convinces the scammer that his PC is broken and helps him fix it by setting syskey and a BIOS password.... on the domain controller...

Slap it up him, teach him not to be a thief. There's a kid on youtube called Lewis's Tech that got an interview out of one of them. Interesting to hear the other side of it, the guy knew fine well what he was doing, hated himself for doing it but its the only way to get experience for a legit tech job.

I enjoy when I get a slightly stupid one to use teamviewer rather than gotoassist because you can still use wireshark to capture their IP via teamviewer. Ask them where they are (and it's usually Washington DC they say) then listen to the stutter when you hit them with the exact town they're in, in India
