    Default Third level education

So, the uglymugs.ie survey says that about 75% of providers have a third level education — college or university. Any providers out there willing to 'fess up that they have a masters or even a PhD?

I'd guess that there are a few of you who do :-)

The amount of escorts who have told me they graduates or are in university puts me to shame. I struggled in school and my attempts at 3rd level education where to naught. But these young, and not so young ladies are to be applauded for their forward planning.

have degree. doing masters and aiming for doctorate

im dyslexic, my family as much love and support they give me are not finiacial able to support me, nor shud i burdon them with it

i made a point of letting nothing stop dreams, and hold the motto aim for the stars you might the mountains

plus i had an awesome teacher that taught me my valueable lesson, education is power it wins most wars

then i look at my female poiltical idol angel merkel, she done what no man in history cud do with countless wars and unneeded death tolls, she owns european and she did it with her smarts and education not armies, she owns europe thru paperwork, the first to conquer europe, when you think about it, so education truly is power

irish folk might not like angie, but to girls esp those with an intreast in politics she a hero really

Is a post grad any good? I'm doing a diploma next as I'm looking at diversifying into a different work sector when I have finished paying off my debts, which interestingly I incurred while doing my third level education. Orla is definitely doing it the right way.

99% ,even more of the people I know who have a phd or masters in something ended up stupid. Im not kidding. What im saying is true. Show me someone with a masters or phd and Ill show you someone who has lost most of their brains and all of their common sense and who know everything. My sister has a masters, I have a cousin a phd and both were very intelligent and I do mean very and now they are so fuckin stupid. Education on a third level seems to be a case of diminishing returns for most people. I pulled away from the rubbish a long time ago. Could have easily done degrees. In fact I have trade, professional and sports qualifications and they mean absolutely nothing to me.

The real education is life itself. I know plenty who have great heads on them and have little to no education and have and are very successful. In fact a lot of them are surviving nowadays where others with education are struggling. what gives?

It is true that intelligence does not = common sense, but it doesn't mean that you can't have both. My cousin has a Doctorate and she was calling me and asking me how to look after her baby, when she is 5 years older than me and her child is 6 months older. She just couldn't cope with the day to day problems and concerns of having a baby and yet she is a highly intelligent woman.

Whereas me, I had to work bloody hard for my qualifications and nothing ever came easy for me, but I was determined and was doing it for a purpose.

There are plenty out there with photograhic memories, who can get the results, but don't necessarily understand what they are writing about. I was so jealous of them when I was at school, but not now.

Its not even lack of common sense. Its a total inability to deal with situations in a intellectual way. I dont know why it happens but they do end up so stupid. There are bound to be exceptions but they are in the minority. It is a fact though that the most capable and intelligent people I ever came across have little to no education. They are however self educated in a lot of cases. They're are plenty self made millionaires in this world who have little in the line of education but what they do have is a good life head that helps them along. Richard Branson being a good example.
