Hmm that's not a bad idea. I think we would continue to bring wine because just from a social encounter perspective that's what we are used to doing. Maybe this is more of an American thing but if you are visiting someone for an extended amount of time (or coming for a social event) bringing a bottle of wine is kind of standard. I like the strawberries idea in addition to that though. But then again, this is another example of a gift that can be "shared".

Is this conversation overthinking it now? Is opening a bottle of wine, sharing strawberries or chocolates a faux pas? Or is it the though that counts, that you went out of your way to bring something nice?

Its the same here, if your visiting someone socially you take a bottle of wine / chocs etc depending. Its up to the host if they share. As for escorts, some wont drink when they are working ..some do!! Eacort might want to keep it til later, its the same as any other host situation,i would think the amount of chocs sent home is an export business in itself.. if ur only there for 30min/ 1hr dont think u should expect a glass .Longer app and overnight is obviously different as it tends to be more relaxed and less rushed. As a couple and doing 2 hr app, why not share a glass, can add to the app...nice.., not a faux pas at all.
