What would have happened if the Jews accepted Jesus as the Messiah and not had him crucified , ----- no redemption for mankind ?
Did God have a back up plan , or were the Jews pre -judged from the outset as murderers ?

It was a pretty safe bet taht he would have been crucified Reggie, If the jews didnt do it the Romans would have. Think about it. There was this pauper saying that he is the son of God. This alone would have infuriated the Roman emperor who sees himself as a God on earth. The Jews were fairly intolerant of blasphemy so Jesus was always in danger of being killed for his cause. Jesus wasnt the only prophet or person claiming to be the Son of God killed at that time so again the chances of him being killed were always great
The Roman state was fairly tolerant of other pre-Christian religions in its heyday - they absorbed practically the whole Greek pantheon into their own and assimilated some Eastern gods and goddesses too. The Romans executed Jesus because of pressure from the Jewish priests - it was better to execute this one man than to risk an uprising in their notoriously unstable province of Judaea. Jesus' famous statement about taxes - "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's" - would have been seen as handy stuff by the Romans; this new rabbi preaches peace and love, AND he want them to pay their taxes, sweet! Jesus also didn't generally make it known that he saw himself as the Son of God - he supposedly swore his disciples to secrecy after the Transfiguration, and when Pilate asked him straight up, he didn't give a straight answer. While it's possible that Jesus might have been assassinated for his preaching, he was always more likely to have been offed by his own people than the Romans.
That is true Mousey, but Jesus also proclaiming the Kingdom of God, this alone would have been seen by the Romans as there rule not being definitive. Also this was all going on around the time of Passover where many Jews would have come from all over to celebrate it. An unstable Juduea soon became a volitile Judea wiith all this going on and then to have some one trying to rabble rouse could have been seen as a trouble maker and may have had to be dealt with. Now as for the sayings in the Bible Mousey I wouldnt read too much into them. A lot of the sayings have been changed to show similairity to other famous Jewish prophets like Moses fo example to help with the transition of being a Jew to becoming a Christian
