I know one of the guys xx

Awesome feat , but the hoopla surrounding it goes against all old school thinking / feeling.

We go out to climb for our pleasure , and when it's picked up by news outlets and news anchors're spouting off about

something they have not the slightest idea about or appreciation for , well , it's painful. Saw CNN covering it. !!

Most guys still go off and climb and conquer in silence and in private , only the immediate circle of us would know of a

project coming up or a milestone achieved. . . . And respect and awe be payed to those who excel ! In spades x

Nowadays though there are endorsements , sponsorships etc. , imo the 'sport' has lost its purity.

Then again , we never looked it as a 'sport' -- it was a belief system and a lifestyle xx

: So aching to go back to my roots and do a gnarly full on climbing trip !! Miss my VW :; xx
