Apparently -- according to the article -- , this charade went on for 2 years !?

Makes me think either

1 . Victim hugely susceptible to opportunistic abuse , or

2 . Somewhat complicit in the 'action' ; may be somewhat embarrassed in the aftermath .


I skimmed the article , seems they're both 25 yrs old , victim inexperienced ; Perpetrator has history of

'Catfishing' (??) on the Internet : carrying on relationships under false pretences with the explicit intent to

deceive others for personal / narcissistic gain . >>>> many out there !

Shocking story, and likely the victim was either completely inexperienced/had some mental health issues or a combination of both. Irregardless though, she is still a victim in my eyes.
