    I do like the Monkies, but they were initially a manufactered band so that America could have a 'Fab Four' equivalent. Also, unlike the Beatles, the Monkies didn't write their own stuff in the beginning; artisits such as Neil Diamond wrote classics such as 'Daydream Believer'. As they progressed, the began writing their own material and began flopping in the charts.

    I am a MASSIVE Beatles fan, but it would only be fair to say that I do hold an interest in the Monkies.

    the Monkies always struck me as a Beatles wannbe without the originality.
