I don't think sending cards is a good idea, although I'd love to do that...but what would you explain to your wife/girlfriend? I will send you a virtual Christmas card when I get home xxxx

No not to clients, that would blur the boundary line for me & I'm sure that the majority of my clients wouldn't appreciate a card from me either. I do send Christmas cards to friends & family, but never clients.
