"When did you ever see a 23-year-old beautiful girl saying: 'I'm going to be a prostitute?' It doesn't happen," he said. "They might be smiling and saying they are happy to be there because they have learned to be helpful to survive.""
What a crackpot clown. Maybe I could accept there being obviously retarded/deranged people in the gardai sometimes. But it's quite another thing to have one of them as an inspector or sargeant.
Something I find very weird is how when EP was commenting on this article in another topic, he seemed to have picked out all the worst things while neglecting to show how crazy the article was.
Such as the way he quoted: ''I have yet to see a prostitute that went into it out of her own free will'' and yet neglected to quote the part right after: "There is always some underlying factor in a person's life, where they have lost all self-dignity. They have been stripped of dignity and they are being dehumanised all over again."
With the first bit alone, he could be talking about his personal experiences where he only comes across that type of woman (although that is still very unlikely in Ireland). With the second part of the quote, all is clear.... these are his own personal, minority views and not believing what the girls are saying themselves. Wouldn't it have been a lot better to clear things up by quoting the second part? hmmm...
I just find it strange out even people in our own ranks will try to dramatize it sometimes.
