It's a bit of a joke. The mind boggles. there hasn't been one case of trafficking yet

I think Ruhama themselves should be audited - how many women "affected by prostitution" are they currently engaged in helping and how do they spend all their donations?

Indeed there are many ways to 'profit from prostitution' :-(
Ruhama certainly have their own 'pimping' operation well and truly established - get the gardai to call into a 'suspected trafficking hub' - let the brothel keeper go to court - collect the windfall . Kerchingggg!!

They are in fact the pimp of pimps!!!! They profit from prostitution better than the prostitutes themselves and yet they can't arrange to meet a sex worker asking for help in a location that they can get to when they are low on funds. Kind of sad really. Those admin costs are crippling!

Hi kate.
Correct me if i wrong but as far as i know Ruhama is funded big time by the government and so the irish taxpayer and yet they can't help those who throughly need their help. They should STOP interfering whit the decent and consenting people involved in the escorting business and go after trafficking and voilanc to wemen only.

That's about it really. They also are only really able to help people involved in street prostitution and have no concept at all of 'indoor' sex work and the needs of those involved, which makes up the majority of sex workers in this day and age. They also make assumptions that sex workers are not in need of a C.V. as they don't have the ability or education required to need one, so for matters like this with regards to exiting they are pretty much useless. They instead think that we need education programs on very basic skills, that for many are well below what they had upon entering into the profession.
If they really cared, they would educate themselves in order to help those that do need help, instead of falling short and failing on every level.

Thank you for these words K your spot on as usual, they need to educate themselves before and in order to help those in need. Instead i think they are only interested in the weekly big fat pay check for doing sweet F all.

At least this money is going to a good cause. 10% of Sarah Benson's salary to be precise. It won't dent her expense account though.
2014 in Northern Ireland:
Number of reported attacks on sex workers 70
Number of sex trafficking cases ZERO
