Hey Anon, what about Johnny Marr, Angus Young, Chuck Berry, Jack White, the guy from The Ramones, even The Edge (not sure about that one)?

The best of... is always a vexing question, but makes for an interesting poll nontheless. I think that (Mahavishnu) John should also be listed, even though he has been quasi flamengo with Spaniard Paco, and done some soulfull stuff with Carlos San. Brings to mind the Fri or Sat nite in San Fran with Paco and that very technical but soul lacking other guy, cant think of his name, so not in list. But who and its a big who, has had the greatest influence in ROCK guitar ever. I think it might be Jimi. Rory is deffo a contender, but we have got our paddy blinkers on, If Phil Lynott is there then so should Jaco Pastorious (Bass) and some others.
he says Jimi Hendrix for best guitarist, Paul McCarthney for best bass and Keith Moon for best drummer. He did say that Francois Rossi is an outstanding guitarist but plays shit stuff. He says Slash doesnt belong with Gallagher,Hendrix.

Keith Moon? That acid addled halfwit?
Buddy Rich was the greatest drummer ever.

I would agree with you on both those points, Keith Moon was too over rated and Buddy Rich was probably the best. Although I prefer to hear good drum parts integrated into songs so I'd have to say Steve Gadd.

i think the drummer of Slyer is the best in the world but cant think of his name right now.
