Not content with deciding its the states business what consenting adults do in private bedrooms, now we're to be stopped buying alcohol below a price the government decides is appropriate.

The reason why people drink too much in this country is a cultural reason, a mentality that people have that means they feel if they drink , they have to get drunk.
If price of alcohol was the motivating factor for the major consumption of alcohol, then we would see similar drinking patterns in Germany, where you can buy a 500ml can of nice tasting beer for around 50c and a bottle of wine for around E2.
Unfortunately, the only major effect this change will have, will be to squeeze more & more money from those people who barely have any money left at the end of the week.
You wont know, until you try!

It,s all about protecting the Pub sector, since alot of TD,s seem to be connected to the pub trade.
The supermarkets have not helped either by selling below profit to draw in people so they will do their weekly shopping there.
At the end of the day they do not rely on the drink trade to stay in business , unlike off licences and pubs.
I will be going to France to get my wines as always

At least the buggers are not making drinking illegal.

That is what you get when you vote lying scumbags like Leo Varadkar into Government,
He believes the Irish people are not capable of making competent decisions on their own.
Don't buy these in the South then, go North and buy them by the pallet load
