Either way, they could no longer afford it, so it is partly to get some sexual excitement out of making the booking and imagining that it could happen and partly out of resentment.

I have no idea if this is a fair idea or not, but there you have one theory that was posed to me.
An interesting take. Certainly, the Celtic Tiger changed people's attitudes, and not for the best. There was an unbridled arrogance amongst people (including the ordinary population) that made Dublin a very uncomfortable place to visit during this period.

Nowadays, I detect a heavy vibe of resentment and "tails between legs."

Ah yes, the centuries old Irish attitude: ach sure it doesn't matter if you take forever and make a horlicks out of the thing, it'll be fine.

I would hate to imagine Ireland directly at war with another country. They wouldn't last a week.

    Why is that?

Is it because our Catholic doctrine is still embedded in us, so you get the courage to phone up and organise a booking, before that little voice telling you you're going to hell kicks in?
It's funny you bring this up......

When I used to work in Ireland the timewasters were unbearable.

During the week an Irish man phoned me for a booking today, I took the booking but I kinda knew he would waste my time however giving the benefit of the doubt....I still took the booking. He said he was arriving in Glasgow last nite so I said I would text him once he arrives basically for reassurance, he confirmed his appointment last nite then cancelled a few minutes ago so left it to the last minute. If he would have cancelled last nite then I would have had more time to organise something else.

This is my last 2 days working before I stop for my operation so I am not impressed at all that he's wasted my time.

Everyone in Glasgow knows that I am very rarely available at short notice so they always try to book me in advance so the chances of me filling his appointment is very slim.

It's putting me off taking another appointment from an Irishman in Glasgow cause I can't remember the last time they didn't waste my time. I don't like to tar everyone with the same brush which is why I have still taken bookings from Irishman but I will be very hesitant in the future.

It's not so easy for you unless you have an irish phone for working in Ireland, but in this kind of case I would ask for a deposit. TW's generally don't like to pay them. Alternatively if you ever intended on working in Ireland, you could pick up an O2 money card for Ireland and get them to put the deposit on there.

It's common knowledge most of the Irish haven't a clue when It comes to time, I've been living here 30+year's and nothings changed they tell you one time and arrive another, now if I arrange a time I allow 10mins grace and I'm out of there no ifs and buts, nothing as bad as hanging around for nothing and when it's business related it doesn't really go down well

There could be many reasons why they don't show up,
I wonder would there be many pubs on their journey to you, I would guess alot.
The temptation for a wee half one to warm the cockles of the auld heart was just too much and once you settle in for one, the craic's mighty and ya stay for 21, maybe popped it to get you bottle of wine or spirits and lost track of time

Don't be too hard on the wee Irishman, the intentions are good, heart of gold they have and they can show Escorts a great time, that's when they do make an appearance

It's not an excuse. This is how I earn a living same as any other escort so my job is as important to me as your job is to you so how you you like it if your boss docked your wages at the end of the week? That's exactly what it's like.

And I am not saying that all Irish men are timewasters, just in my experience in Ireland, it was a far higher volume of timewasters than anywhere else, it became unbearable for me especially when your spending a fortune on expenses. And my experience of giving Irish men bookings at home in Glasgow has been very poor also so it does put me off.

This thread is about Irish timewasters isn't it?

I remember when I started punting I was very shy & accutely nervous - a few times I got as far ad the escorts location and chickened out with a phone call- now I'm no longer shy - just a tad nervous - some girls have sent me on wild goose chases and told me to come back In 15 mins etc - my time is stolen and is also precious
