Sorry to hear you got hurt, but I would have thought common sense told you that walking the streets at 4am in the morning, brings a certain level of danger. I personally would never go out alone past midnight or take a booking past 10pm.

I'm wondering if naming the street is helping with the on going safety of the girls?

the later the most danger after saying that i have walked the streets off Dublin Galway and in the uk all hours off the night hever had any trouble,well jusy luck,

Sorry to hear about your attack, but have to say after 10 pm Dublin changes, a lot of drunks and angry people seem to appear everywhere, not just the area you mentioned. Mindless attacks are becoming commonplace and unfortunately the resources to ensure Garda presence are diminished or stretched to breaking point. I recently had a situation where it took 20 mins just to get the 999 to answer and a further 20 + mins for Garda to arrive at the incident.

Of course when the new laws come into force (I suspect shortly after the Nordie ones- June 1) our beloved Pigs will be to busy hanging outside escorts apartments trying to catch Johns for easy fines, to bother their well paid holes to police our city streets!
Ironically, being on a street where an escort is based could well become the safest place to be in the city!
@ the mo if you need the pigs to call out urgently, just tell the operator that there is an anti water charges protest outside your door!

2 weeks ago I was jumped by 4 men and had a concussion and broken nose while ringing outside at 4am for one of the escorts to open the door. No, i won't say the name of the escort. My warning, be careful at this time and this location. Aparently it was a random attack, I have no evidence the escort(s) had anything to do with the incident.

I have no memory of the incident (concussion), woke up in A&E, and there are no CTV cameras in the location. Luckily a group of bystanders jumped in a saved me. He gave me his phone number and told me what he saw while I was in the hospital, the rest was told to me by the escort who saw the attact through a window aparently. I still have 2 fractures in my nose and 2 black eyes, and stiches over a temple area. Be careful, as the attendent at a SPAR told me, dublin is much more dangerous at night then it used to be before the recession, even south Dublin.

A mate of mine was mugged this time last year on hospital grounds by 2 non nationals wearing hoodies (it closes at a certain point as it has no A and E), the muggers got 60€ and a gift card! They knocked him to the ground and bashed his face and give him a right thump on his ears! The police came out to him and apparently questioned him in a manner to suggest he may have contributed to the assault. They reluctantly gave him a lift to our main hospital which has an A and E, he was promptly charged 100€ to be senn there €20 for a subsequent hearing test! He also had a non voiced objection to the fact that the doctor who saw him there was of the same racial background as his attackers!
He works in a low paid retail job and also had to take 2 unpaid days off!
So the reality is that the amount he was directly mugged for was less than the muggings by the state in A and E charges and his employer!
The pigs made absolutely no progress in finding the scum who attacked him and this was not the first or last case in this particular area!

The locals in Hamburg refer to their famous RLD the Reeperban area as the most policed (it is legal) area in the world, it's also know as the mile of sin! BTW the Amsterdam windows equivalent there - Herbertstrasse (a complete rip off and a street where non WG women and under 18s are not allowed to walk down!) is right beside the huge Reeperban police station!
