I would blame the media and the government for that. In Countries where Escorting is more acceptable the rates are a lot lower, as the risk the Escort is also lower and therefore, she has less to lose for being 'outed'. If you are outed here there is a chance you could be shame faced across the nation and have it stamped on your passport and refused entry in the future. It's not a great prospect and a risk that we have to take.

I told him I had been working on my accent and would have words with my parents when I get home.

We got texting (yes I know I need to stop doing this with strangers) and he said that he was looking for an Irish lady, because he wanted to keep the money he was spending in the Irish economy.

This made me think, as I had just spent a fair noodle in the shops and over 500 euros on my accomodation. A large portion of the money I make does stay in the Irish economy, so is this a principle that is more important than picking the right lady or is their room for maneuver, bearing in mind the money spent during a tour?

What is your opinion on this?

Oh and I won him round in the end. Apparently I have a sense of humour, despite being british!

You are right Kate,And well done on making a fair point. Most people don't see the bigger picture and spend the biggest proportion of their cash in the big multi-national European stores.

Thousands of Irish people have made their livelyhoods in Britian and we are always glad to get some of their money So i say live and let live You are welcome Kate

I think its about time people realised we live in a global economy, for everything. As Kate and others have pointed out the touring girls spend a lot on accommodation, food, transport, etc etc, and logically an Irish girl who might already own her own place is probably spending less in the economy so the argument is slightly counter productive. Well done on talking him round, Kate, and yes you have a wicked sense of humour.

True but plenty of Irish people have (and as you even accept yourself) spent both rashly and lavishly is the not-so-distant past. I can see why prices are a divisive issue, especially compared with other EU countries, but there are tons of different variables. At the end of the day, the majority of escorts (at least from what I've saw and heard) put in a fair amount of work and also have to put up with a lot of rubbish.

It was an eye opener to me in recent weeks to learn that for some men who punt €200 is likely a drop in the ocean but yet they will haggle and fight tooth and nail over prices, as was put into perspective for me by an ex-escort when I couldn't grasp the point that not everything was black and white, and that my circumstances were far from the norm. No one is compelled to see an escort. Though I must say I found some escorts willing to take personal circumstances into account, and are more than reasonable in their approach. I couldn't do what they do, so I've no right to dictate prices.

As for "buying Irish", I'm all for it and everyone in our house ensures that where possible they spend that extra few moments or cents to ensure that a product is "guaranteed Irish". However, I think it's a nonsense to apply it to escorts, though my own tastes go no further than those from within Britain and Ireland.

It's ok Kate. We took billions out of your social welfare system for centuries. And we mightn't get around to paying back that bilateral loan you gave us recently.

So you get whatever you out of us. You deserve it!

Personally I look at the Irish ladies first, It's important to me that there is no language or accent barrier, this even rules out some Irish girls. Nothing as bad as a girl constantly saying "Whaaaa?"
On the money spent in Ireland issue, Isn't it the idea of most touring girls to send/bring a few thousand home?

The eastern european ladies are welcome to do business here just as much as anyone else in my books. And once they've earned that money here only they themselves have the right to determine on who or what they spend it on. If they want to buy top end electronics or a nice coat or whatever, that's their business.

We could actually learn how to spend money properly from them instead of wasting it. I don't agree with all the negative envious posts here at all. Fair dues to these ladies and long may it continue
