Luther is that REALLY you???? It's hard to know these days with all the NEW members that seem to be so friendly
with the natives as soon as they start posting. It's almost like they have been here before.

I agree Forrest. Was looking at a thread yesterday that was only about 18 months old and at least half the posts were by banned members, the style of moderation is like a wrecking ball of bans... some over small trivial crap, some occasionally more serious and other times it's simply just a clash of two people that don't respect each other but one happens to be a mod so the other gets banned. It's the same heavy handed approach with locking and deleting threads unfortunately.

It seems as though banning and locking is the primary method of moderation around here, when really those mod controls should be the last resort after moderation has failed.

The fact that you only got one serious reply so far just goes to show how bad it's gotten.

and for thanking Chief's honest assessment of his take on the situation here.

I really should have gone for a more shocking title though, to capture the imagination of our
eclectic mix of members, and I probably shouldn't have been as subtle with my entreé.

The problems I see are as follows:

No consistency in moderation and application of the rules of the forum.
See the treatment of Naughty Natalie's genuine reply to a thread in 'client requests' a couple of weeks ago,
and the delayed reaction to a smart comment(off topic) by a forum manager on another client request thread.

There are plenty of other examples, but nobody cares, so why should I.

Over moderation of some escort profiles and none on others.
A prime example would be the censorship of the beautiful poetry on Lilian's intro, and the complete lack
of concern over the constant use of fake photos(sometimes showing the vajayjay too) by other escorts.

Lack of clarity or explanation for moderation decisions
The standard explanation is 'you don't need to know, and we're not telling'
It's a condescending attitude and just provokes more questions, so why do it that way?


The lack of discussion about the moderation on the site is a sad indictment of the martial law
currently in operation here.

But there has to be some moderation. Often "free speech" is just an excuse for mud slinging, being abrasive, or down right bullying!

The one bit I think that has caused most confusion and offence - is consistency (or rather lack of)! It is obviously difficult because mods/managers like the rest of us are individuals. But consistency or lack of it, is what has caused the most amount of consternation on the forum.

Fo the record, I am happy with the way things are, and give credit to mods ad managers for keeping things going. I do crave more consistency - but can live with it. I think the mods and managers do a good job, but I also think our government ministers are doing ok!! By doing ok I put myself in their shoes and wonder if I could do a better job - and the answer is usually no!! And I wouldn't do their jobs - mods/manager or ministers for love of money!!


But I certainly with one thing Forrest - light touch is the way to go! Heavy handedness does nothing! And better communication about why certain decisions are taken would keep most happy (rather than the "thats the way it is folks" reply).

Nobody really cares because the people who this concerns are the ones who's business is their own.
The other kind of people care only whether they get their way regarding how others should conduct their business and as it always has been the case, those people always get their ways. So thats about it.

Discussion & debate seem to be a thing of the past, alright. Mods don't offer an opinion either, under orders, maybe???

I can't really give much of a reply to this.
This is the only forum of any kind I'm a member of, and for less than a year so I don't really have much to compare it with.
In general, from looking back through older threads there is a lot less tolerance for "bad" behaviour than there used to be, although it does seem that good posters can get banned for a lot less than in the past.
