Crap programme but the minister's interview was interesting in that he recognised the existance of prostitution since the year dot and that he was somewhat unconvinced of the Swedish method of making paying illegal. So what will he bring in? Or did I not hear him correctly as I only saw some of it?

It's tabloid journalism, you all seem to expect a fair, investigative journalism and both sides of the story, that won't ever happen, it doesn't make good tv.

Unfortunately Pez I think he meant the exact opposite.

He was asked if he was seriously thinking about bringing in the Swedish model. To which he said he was in consultation on the matter. He admiited thta there were parties that were concerned that the Swedish model would drive the industry further underground. It was at this point that he said he was unconvinced! Which to me reads he is unconvinced by those that say the Swedish model will make things worse.

If I remember correctly, he was a supporter of this (Ruhamas porposed Swedish model) in his pre-election campaign.

You could be right Morpheus. When you put it like that he may have meant he was unconvinced about their concerns. I think he is to decide very soon on a course of action. There was mention of proposals after the RTE programme.

Has anyone considered the hiring of a female solicitor to act as an official voice for all you independent ladies?
It's no use complaining here after a show like that is aired. The community must be more proactive.

What about getting a piece published on www.thejournal.ie, Ruhama have had their say there so why can't an independent lady do a piece for it also?

Senator David Norris said that he was in favour of legalising it and even though I know that his reputation is somewhat tarnished I still think it wouldn't do any harm to speak to him about it.

I posted links here to a thread on the Boards.ie website I happened to come across but did anyone here get involved in that discussion? I loooked at it awhile back and saw posts from Stella Marr and other posts from someone I believe to be an agent for Ruhama spouting the usual nonsense.

In the Sarah Benson\ Eileen Lang interview on Tom Dunne's show Benson acknowledged the existence of independent escorts, but she said the number was small, you have to prove her wrong publicly on that point.

    That's all for now. Goodnight.

Your absolutely right! Now that would be interesting!
