Am I on the right track ? Escorts could put themselves forward for verification somewhat similar to the Trusted Reviewers Badge. And if their profile passes whatever guideline is set. They are awarded a Verified Independent status.

I less interested in trying to spot them all as this would probably be impossible. I'm more interested in a mechanism by which a true Independent Escort can get that Verifyed and recognised as such.

Easy. A copy of the passport to be sent with verifcation pictures (in line with Norway and the UK for full verification on AW)..and ten votes (in the form of positive reviews from established members.
Many girls are also sharing profiles. Ask the clients to anonymously report this in a review section.

I didn't know there was such a system in place Lucy. Are many escorts willing to send a copy of their passport. And how hard would it be to do up a fake copy of a passport with photoshop ?

Our current ID checking system, which more like a credit check I suppose, is arguably better than a passport scan check I think. I don't imagine Romanian crime gangs would have much trouble making fake passport images in photoshop either.
Also, though I accept you are calling for constructive discussion here, the title of this thread puts me off. I think "I have the right to know" is a poor way of putting it. There needs to be balance here. I understand, as a client, what you'd like, but what about the escorts? Lets not go down the road of forgetting about escorts here. The whole notion of client dictating the agenda here is very off-putting to me.
