Stupidity Amnesty

Is there anything you have done in the past that was particularly stupid or maybe you believed something to be true only to be shown that it was plainly wrong here's the change to get it off you chest.

Suppose I should go first.
About 10yrs ago the driver's interior door handle in my car stopped working. Money was pretty tight back then so couldn't afford to get it fixed until payday which was 3 weeks away.
The driver's exterior door handle was working perfectly.
For the next 3 weeks everytime I had to get out of the car, had to clamber over the gearstick to the passenger side to get out.
This was a real pain.
Eventually payday arrived and I was able to book the car in to bet fixed a week later.
I was driving to the garage when I had a very bright idea.
On stopping at the garage, I wound down the window and opened the drivers door from the outside.
Doh!!!!!!
