  • No, I'm happy with the current setup. Good providers have reviews switched on. Scammers are more likely to have them switched off. Someone is just going to have to Take One For The Team to see what's what on new profiles

Default Profiles that block reviews, should it really be allowed?

This has probably been mentioned time and again in the past.

But you know how it is, times are changing, and maybe a little adaptation is in order?

I mention it based on two (not direct, thankfully) experiences or rather, observations in the very recent past (which was more than enough to consolidate this opinion).

Profiles that are unlikely to allow reviews are mostly apparent in and of themselves, often times based on the appearance of the advertiser alone.

I saw one such profile a couple weeks ago, verified pics, reviews allowed but none given at that point and, listen, I'm not prejudiced, but I'm very familiar with the type of girl that was advertising.

From a popular escorting culture hailing from eastern Europe and I just thought, "Godspeed to the poor sucker that ends up having to leave her first review".
And sure enough it came, the unsuspecting good faith advocate clearly put too much hope into the possibility it could be good.......... but the inevitable happened.
Basically she tore him to shreds, as evidently reflected in the review. Juiced him for extras, nothing delivered, out in 10 minutes etc etc, we know the deal.

    Next day, reviews switched off.

I just called another such girl recently, basically same prototype appearance. Knew exactly what to expect but damn, you know how a dude gets horny and that long list of favorites is too tempting to resist.

Ended up hanging up on her mid sentence but we know the routine. It's just matter of time until some poor horny bloke puts a little too much faith in the possibility and, as above.

    .......

The fact is, the priority of such advertisers is to NEVER give a good service to ANY client naive enough to enter their premises, whom they all consider by default to be a lowlife (we get the irony) and easy target.

Yet with a flick of the switch, reviews off, they can basically mask that fact and continue to extort their way around the country, one week at a time.

It's the cold, hard, unpleasant truth.

You know it. I know it.

The seagulls outside crapping on my balcony know it.

It's not like numbers are low at the moment either. It's a thriving business in this country currently.

Could those numbers drop off a little if some advertisers were obliged to reveal the genuine nature of the "service" they provide?
    Possibly.
But I'm just saying, it's kind of stomach turning that this feature unwittingly facilitates their degenerative little racket.

Thoughts? Should reviews on all profiles be mandatory?
